Weather & Site Closure Policy

Livingston County Testing Service will determine whether weather, site conditions, or road conditions make testing unsafe or prevent the driving skills test from being properly administered.

Testing may still be conducted in light rain or normal Michigan weather.

Required concept
If the test is scheduled and conditions are safe, testing will proceed rain or shine. Extreme or unsafe conditions are the exception.

Conditions that may cause cancellation or rescheduling include:

  • Snow accumulation.

  • Ice.

  • Lightning.

  • Heavy rain.

  • Poor visibility.

  • Unsafe parking lot conditions.

  • Unsafe road conditions.

  • Site obstruction or site unavailability.

  • Road construction or route disruption.

  • Any other condition Livingston County Testing Service determines would make testing unsafe or prevent the test from being properly administered.

If Livingston County Testing Service cancels a test due to weather, site condition, route condition, examiner availability, safety, or another issue outside the applicant’s control, the applicant may choose either:

  • Priority reschedule; or

  • Full refund.

When possible, weather-related cancellations should be decided by 5:00 p.m. the day before the scheduled test. If conditions change unexpectedly, the organization may cancel closer to the appointment time.
